![]() But it is a stretch to me to think of the horse owners as gambling. People gamble on the outcome of races to be sure. It reminds me of horse owners who participate in competitive racing. By finding and retaining the best players they can earn a share of the most in-game currency. They can then seek out people willing to play the game on their behalf. That, to me, is NOT gambling.Īnother person can invest real-world cash to buy in-game assets. So for zero stake they can earn in-game currency that is convertible to real world cash. They can then apply/increase their skill in playing the game to earn a share of in-game currency. Ostensibly, someone can find a sponsor who will lend them in-game assets. The additional fact that the earned in-game currency can be converted to real world cash is not novel but certainly interesting when combined with the former. The mechanic of ownership allowing players to lend in-game assets to free players for the purposes of in-game currency generation is novel to me. This financial times article explained that the game is not gambling and instead is something more complex. When I thought the game was simply gambling I ignored it (and in fact I assumed it was earning high revenue). It is a least-charitable interpretation structured to forward your own viewpoint. Obviously though, Commandos 2's upcoming Switch release is the only way to play the game on Nintendo's console - and with the original's core gameplay still largely intact, it might yet be a tempting proposition for those looking for some old-school strategy action on the go. Not exactly a promising start then, but Kalypso has continued to address concerns since launch - releasing bug and performance fixes, as well as introducing requested features such as enhanced zoom levels - but it's still questionable if the remaster is the best way to play what's otherwise a much-loved classic on PC. Kalypso's remaster effort introduced the likes of graphical enhancements, reworked controls, a modernised UI, and an improved tutorial on PC, but was roundly criticised for removing key features - from multiple view panes to Commandos 2's entire multiplayer mode - while adding in an absolute mountain of bugs and performance issues at launch.įans weren't exactly overjoyed to discover that Kalypso had opted to remove what it called "extreme political symbols", such as swastikas, from the game either, rather dampening the original's grasp for historical authenticity. Yet looking at the HD Remaster, the improvements they’ve made are night and day between the two games. The core of the experience, as you'd hope, remains largely identical to Pyro Studios' notoriously challenging 2001 original, tasking players with leading a small team of WW2 soldiers - each with its own speciality, from sniper to demolitions expert - across a series of isometric stages in order to complete various open-ended sabotage and assassination missions. Commandos 2 is an HD remaster, but I did feel I need to go back and make a direct comparison to the 2001 original. Since it is a 2-handed flail it is only usable by Crusaders and only useful if you are running a Sweep Attack build. This whole build gives you insane CC, Attack Speed, and damage with some extra survivabilty to make it the top build for Crusaders. RL also increases the damage of SA by 500% and increases your attack speed for 3 seconds, stacking up to 5 times. This set allows you to reduce defensive/law cooldowns by one second every time you use SA for some extra survivability which, you can’t ever have enough of when pushing grifts. ![]() Now I need to go into the real meat of this build by talking about Rolands Legacy. Using the Trip Attack rune on SA also provides a ton of CC when used with this build as it has a 50% chance to stun enemies for 2 seconds. Allowing you to power through grifts and melt away hordes of enemies. It’s really quite simple, with enough enemies this item turns sweep attack into a wrath generator allowing you to take full advantage of Rolands Legacy and the SA damage bonus from Denial. Because lets face it this item was simply not enough to make a build around it, until now. With the help of Denial and a reworked Rolands Legacy set, Sweep Attack builds are now the most popular for pushing high level grifts. Golden Flense has always intrigued me as a good item for a sweep attack build, but there wasn’t any other Sweep Attack based items to compliment it. Unfortunately, Sweep Attack builds weren’t really a thing at that point in time. I remember when I first made a Crusader when RoS came out and really liked the idea of a Sweep Attack build. Woody, assuming his self-appointed duties, goes after the wayward utensil to convince him that it's worth abandoning the promise of trash for Bonnie. Ultimately, Forky jumps out the window of a moving vehicle in an effort to escape Bonnie's smothering affection during a road trip. More of an heir to Inside Out's Bing Bong than any existing character in the Toy Story universe, his strange persona guides the tone of the film, which is more melancholy than downright sob-inducing. I've already written an entire piece about Forky, but suffice it to say he's one of the oddest, most affecting animated characters to grace the screen in recent memory. His initial moments on Earth are full of terror, and he longs to return to the trash. ![]() By turning a once disposed spork into a toy, Bonnie forced Forky to reckon with his own existence. Of course, what's comfort for some is trauma for others. Said intro to the world of schooling is traumatic for poor Bonnie, but Woody comes to her aid by supplying her various items that she uses to create Forky (Tony Hale), a makeshift plaything with haunted googly eyes who becomes her constant companion and her source of solace. He's so dedicated that he stows away in her book bag even after she's told she's not allowed to bring a toy to her kindergarten orientation. But that hasn't stopped Woody from his dogged devotion to making his kid happy. Woody (Tom Hanks), always Andy's favorite, is not as beloved by Bonnie, who prefers to make cowgirl Jessie (Joan Cusack) sheriff of her imaginary town. When we check back in on our old pals, they're happily serving Bonnie, and she adores them. In other words: There's absolutely no need for a Toy Story 5.
